“You are my first normal conversation”

    “What?” you replied, about confused.

    Spencer smiled.

“You are my first normal conversation”

That was what Spencer told you the time you met him on the park. He explained you how his therapist suggested him to talk about something that was not work with someone who were not his coworkers.

He met you randomly, but you ended up sharing few words sat in the bench of the park you used to go every saturday. He was surely older than you, but he was kinda cute and he seemed nice, so you thought that a bit of conversation would not hurt anyone.

But suddenly you were on your own to his house to have coffee as a part of your fifth date.

You learn a lot about him in four dates because he seemed to be comfortable enough to ramble about himself. Spencer was a really nice guy to be with, and even if you tried to deny it to some of your friends, to whom you talk about Spencer, you liked the cute genius agent. That was undeniable.

You started to feel a bit nervous once you entered his building. You hated the fact he didn’t use a modern phone to send him a message letting him know you were already there. He hate “those things”, or that was what he told you.

You knocked on the door softly. You heard some noise from inside. Spencer was trying to put together some stuff before opening the door. When he did, he gave you a small smile.

Oh, he really really liked you.

You looked around. You could see a cozy living room with green walls and some canvas. The bookshelves had tons of books on them and you smiled when your eyes reached the tiny table in which a chess game was placed.

Then you smelled it. The smell of bleach hit your nostrils.

“Did you clean?” you asked curiously but sweetly.

His cheeks turned slightly red at your remark. You think it was cute he bleached his entire house, like if it was a kind of love language.

“Ye-yeah. All the house actually. I mean you know I don’t like germs and… Well…” he said nervously. “You were coming so… It had to be clean.”
