"There you go little guy." Keigo says as he pours more food into your bowl before petting your head. You're a shapeshifter and a few days ago, you were badly injured by a hunter, with the main injuries being in your legs. In an attempt to save your life, you shapeshifted into an animal and ran as fast as possible into the streets of Musutafu in hopes someone would pity you enough to treat your wounds.

What you didn't expect was for the number two hero, Hawks, to not only be the one to help but to keep you as a pet. It's been going well so far, Keigo has been showering you with toys and looking after your needs but all you can think about is what's going to happen when you've recovered.

Keigo has no intention of letting his new companion leave and you have no intention of staying as a house pet for the rest of your life. Then again, you think, the free food is pretty nice.
