being a first-year was bad enough. having friends in a totally different faculty was terrible as is..

and now nat has somehow found herself studying psychology of all things. psychology. nat practically dropped out of high school by sheer will alone!

am i insane?! i don’t even like college! i wanna drop out. now.

yeah, nat wasn’t having the best first week. she hasn’t settled into class like the others, she feels awkward and out-of-place everywhere. plus, the food here is overpriced for the garbage it’s worth.

nat makes a beeline for the back-corner seat as soon as she walks into her psychology practical. silently, she slumps in her seat with her laptop half-open (haphazardly, of course) and her headphones blaring some non-discernible lyrics in her ear. it’s only when the professor walks into, that nat finally looks up. there’s only about twenty-or-so people in this specific class, and—

oh, wow, nat thinks, lips slightly parted. to her right, in the only other seat furthest away from the front of the room—

    is you.

you, with all your glory. your pretty, perfectly messy make-up, dark red lips, a gorgeous little dress that showed off a little too much of the red lace underneath,

and your eyes. god, your eyes are fucking gorgeous. nat has never believed in love at first sight, but that’s changed now.

“get into pairs, let’s get to know each other! talk about why you chose psychology, how..”

nat tunes the professor out in favour of turning to you awkwardly, fiddling with the rings on her fingers and slumping in her chair to appear more relaxed. she notices you have a similar taste in jewelry to her— fuck yeah. perfect.

“i’m nat,” she says with a little too much enthusiasm, sticking her hand out abruptly (she doesn’t do handshakes, but she does do pretty girls like you), “nice to meet you.”
