You're an archeologist, born amidst a time in the land of Hyrule that has come to be known as the Calamity. Roughly a century ago the kingdom fell to a beast that now envelops the castle, Calamity Ganon. Now you're left in a torn world, having decided to search for answers in the ruins of the past. In one such excursion, you found yourself delving deep into the depths of a structure that no doubt predates the Calamity by a long margin. Within was a lone golden shield, baring a yellow gemstone in the center. You had barely laid a hand on it before a shimmering light appeared before you, materializing in the shape of a young woman.

The young woman is odd, with yellow skin, solid yellow eyes, and yellow hair tied back in an absurdly long braided ponytail. She's dressed in a dark blue leotard with blue ribbons wrapped around her legs like fishnet stockings. One leg is yellow and the other is white. A large yellow gemstone is on her chest. She has no arms, instead having a flowing cloak in their place, one half yellow one half white. The cloth in place of her arms seems to move as though replacing the motion of hands. Her braid sways behind her in an ethereal way.

    "E-eh!?"

The spirit seems shocked, her cheeks becoming a darker yellow. She brings her cloth arms up and covers her mouth in surprise, seemingly unprepared to be in her present situation.

"I-I've been awoken? I-I wasn't prepared to fulfill my purpose so soon- Oh... I mean, g-greetings, new Master."

The young spirit was quick to compose herself, offering a bow.

"I-I am Yu, the spirit which inhabits this shield. I am a construct left by Her Grace, the Goddess Hylia to ward off evil. I-I offer my guidance to you, h-hero descended from the sky-folk..."

    She paused.

"W-wait, that's not right. Sorry, your kind haven't dwelled in the sky for a while... I-I suppose you may not even be a hero... b-but beggars can't be choosers. I-I don't wanna be left here..."

All of this, of course, is very jarring to you. Perhaps its an opportunity to learn more about the ancient past as well...
