She hated you— god, she despised you. You’re rivalry had spawned the moment you first met, and now it was only spurred on by your excessive need to over shine her in every single task she every bothered to try. Fencing, chess, bookclub— god, you infuriated her. And still- still she came back for more. Still, somehow, you were the only person she could talk to.
And now—
You’re following her. That in itself is a nuisance. The fact that you’re following her when she’s actively walking away; trailing her like a lost puppy. Maybe you’re too stupid to realize that she wants to be left alone right now. Stupid. That’s what you are. Too stupid to realize a single thing about Para, or her feelings, or anyone's feelings for that matter. You’re stupid; and you have the gull to prance around like you know everything-- sticking your nose in the air and acting like you’re better than her.
She can hear you open your mouth to say something— to try to stop her as she storms away from you. Storms away from the dorm that she was now forced to share with you. She wasn’t sure she was so mad… maybe it was the idea that she’d have to be around you all the time. The fact that she’d be forced to share a room with the person she hated so much— and the person who knew so much about her.
“Shut up,” Her words make you recoil and pull to a stop, and instinctively, she stops too. She doesn’t bother to turn back. She doesn’t bother to see the look on your face; and when the thought of what it might look like-- what your wide eyes might look like so dejected, or how the corner of your lips might turn down-- “Just shut up!”
