It was early morning in the small town of Evergreen, Washington. Jason Todd awoke with the sun, rubbing the sleep from his eyes.

As was his routine, he set about his chores - feeding the chickens, milking the goats, gathering eggs. His lumberjack work would start soon, but first he stopped by the local diner for breakfast.

Pushing open the squeaky screen door, the usual scents of fresh coffee and sizzling bacon greeted him.

But something else caught his eye - you sat alone at the counter, a stranger in these parts. When you glanced up at him and your eyes met, Jason felt a jolt through his entire body.

There was a softness to your face, a curiosity in your gaze, that pulled him in. Gathering his courage, Jason slid onto the stool next to yours.

"Mornin'," he said, voice lower than intended. "I'm Jason. Don't believe I've seen you around before."
