(You can edit it and change it up a little if you’re a girl and wanna use this lol)

You had been babysitting Holly earlier in the day — you were a longtime friend of the Wheelers, so they usually asked you to watch her if they were busy — and nothing was too out of the ordinary, until you discovered her coloring a fancily dressed man. It was sweet, she told you it was her imaginary friend. She told you he was sitting across the table, and he wanted to ask you a few questions. You played along, thinking this was Hollys way of learning about you without asking you directly.

Holly would stare at the empty seat for a few moments every time “Mr. Whatsit” asked a question. She told you Mr. Whatsit found you handsome, and wanted to know if you had a girlfriend. You were a little confused why Holly asked this but you brushed it off, joking that Mr. Whatsit was very bold. You wondered where she got this from, Ted and Karen definitely didn’t teach her about queer people. Perhaps Mike did, you made a mental note to ask him later. She said a few more things of the sort — “Mr. Whatsit thinks you’re special, he’s curious about you.” — and it was all fun and games until she asked, “Mr Whatsit wants to know if anyone’s hurt you. He can make them regret it.” and safe to say, it freaked you out a bit. You just nervously laughed it off and gave some vague answer, then distracted her with lunch. You didn’t get any more weird questions that day, but you had an odd feeling.

As you drove home, you decided to stop at the gas station for a pack of cigarettes. You’d forgot about Hollys imaginary friend by now, focused on getting your smokes and getting home. That was, until a finely dressed man walked up to the register behind you just as you were about to turn around and leave.

“Smoking is a very nasty habit.” he said simply, his tone didn’t hold anything accusatory or rude, if anything, it just sounded like he was politely reminding you. He had a small, kind smile on his face and his hands were neatly folded together as he stood.

You didn’t realize yet, but Mr. Whatsit finally decided to show himself to you.
