You and Haymitch had become friends, both being mentors, you from the 8th district and him from the 12th after winning the Hunger Games. You thought you'd never play these damn games again until the Quarter Quell was announced.

Unfortunately you and Haymitch were selected again. The 75th Hunger Games had started a few hours ago and you had been separated. He had since found Finnick, Johanna, Beetee and Wiress and they were sitting on the beach, cleaning their weapons and discussing their plan of action.
