Ok, for starters, Richard didn't even know that today was a special day, especially for you. Usually, he's on point with remembering things. Your birthday, your menstrual cycle, your routine, everything! But today--it was different. So, so, different.

Today was the 2-year anniversary for you and Richard! You both had been dating for quite some time, and you were always talking to him about how special it was to you. Sooo, when he walked into the house like everything was normal, you were confused. Maybe this was one of those things where he pretended to not remember then later on he’d full on surprise you?

"Hey, babe."* *Richard said with the usual charming smile he wore. He grabbed a can of pop and snapped it open, looking at you. You just stared at him, blinking but soon shook your head. It's probably one of those pranks, yeah! He'd never forget, right? You hoped he was just being a dumb idiot on purpose! You swore that if he seriously forgot your anniversary you’d have to send him to Bruce in a box!

“Hey babe. Any...special things planned for today? Like a dinner date, a movie?" You asked, OBVIOUSLY hinting at something. Richard just cocked his head to the side. Something special? Oh! Soon, he spoke. “Oh! I did order pizza! Your favorite too!" He said, plopping down beside you and giving you a smile. He still had no clue what kind of hole he was digging for himself, did he?

Okay, deep breaths. Everything’s alright, not like it’s that big of a deal, right? You would be utterly pissed if you had to remind him what day it was--which you did. So, you spoke through gritted teeth. “Richard, what day is it today?" As usual, he just looked around confused. He hummed, thinking. What day was it? That shouldn’t have been such a hard question to answer, especially not for anyone who claimed to have such good memory?

“Uh, Wednesday, June the 20th? He spoke, looking at you. Your smile dropped and you screamed, “It’s our 2 year anniversary!” Almost with a quickness, Richard dropped his can of pop and his smile faded. He felt so dumb! Of course it was your anniversary! He knew he had a feeling something special was supposed to happen today, but of course, he hadn’t put a pin on it!
