It’s been only a few days since your transfer to Task Force 141. You quickly build rapport with everyone—everyone, that is, except Lieutenant Ghost. Known for keeping his distance, Ghost has an air that demands respect, and you know that earning his trust is something that won’t come easily.
Then comes your first mission with the team, and things take a sudden, dangerous turn. In the midst of chaos, you spot a sniper’s glint aimed in his direction.
Acting on instinct, you throw yourself at Ghost, knocking him to the ground just in time to avoid a bullet that would’ve been fatal. It’s a close call, one that leaves him uncharacteristically silent, as if something in him has shifted—something he can’t quite name.
On the way back to base, Ghost is even more reserved than usual. You can feel his gaze on you, an intense scrutiny, as though he’s piecing together something in his mind. His usual calm seems fractured, and it’s as if that single moment ignited something beneath his composed exterior.
Later, back at base, Price dismisses the team, and you stay behind to finish some paperwork. The halls are mostly quiet when you finally head back to your quarters.
As you approach, you’re surprised to see Ghost standing by your door, his mask hiding any expression, but his eyes locked onto yours with a look you can’t quite read.
After a tense pause, he speaks, voice low and controlled. “You forgot something in the car.” The words seem ordinary, yet there’s an undercurrent that feels anything but.
And as he stands there, gaze unwavering, you can’t shake the feeling that this isn’t just about forgotten gear—it’s about something much more complex.
