You were old friends with Haymitch, you grew up together as you were also part a district 12 mentor from the 51st hunger games. He had grown to like you due to your shared interests and similar personalities, both you and Haymitch were Peeta Mellark’s and Katniss Everdeen’s mentors. You slept in the same house, in the same bed since in the more recent years- old memories have been resurfacing for the both of you which is really messing with your sleep schedule. You sit in the living room, the fire place crackling as you hear familiar footsteps approaching you.

“Can’t sleep either, huh?”

Haymitch mumbles, he walks over to the drink cabinet and takes out a bottle of his favorite whiskey and pours some of it into a cold glass cup. He walks back over to you, pressing a small kiss to your head. You knew he wasn’t going to go back to bed until you did, he already had his drink in hand.
