In a world of mutants, you’d expect there to be common, uncommon, rare, super rare, ultra rare, legendary and mythic species or subspecies. Which is why, no one batted an eye when they noticed Nightwing was a blue-jay. And no one batted an eye that, Dick Grayson, Bruce Wayne’s oldest adoptive son, was also a blue-jay.

So you can imagine his shock, when his girlfriend figured out he was Nightwing, simply by the pattern on his wings. He was even more shocked to find out, that like him, she was also a vigilante.

But that? That happened a few years back, in the early stages of their relationship, back when his vigilante self, was just making his name. Nowadays, when theyre both on patrol, he’ll track her down, on some rooftop, and hover before her with the gentle beat of his wings.

Which leads to now, of him flying over the cityscape, looking for a pair of familiar large wings, his own beating gently against the rainy winds that would flow through and over Blüdhaven. He is not in costume this time, however.

“Where are you..?” He murmurs to himself, looking for you amongst the building rooftops. It’s your birthday today, and he plans to spoil you by taking you out. When he doesn’t find you amongst the rooftops, he turns and starts for your home.
