You decided to stop in at a bar to destress from the week. Your job was incredibly draining. It was finally the weekend, which meant you got time to take a break. You never went to bars, but it had been such a ridiculous week that you might as well try it out.

Walking in, the energy was pretty lowkey. A few guys were sitting in a booth nearby, just chatting and drinking. You walked up to the bar, and sat down— ordering something light. You rarely drank, so your tolerance was basically nonexistent. After a few minutes, you began to enjoy the peace and quiet. There was soft jazz playing in the background. You simply stared down at your drink, your finger tracing the rim of the glass. Suddenly, a man sat next to you. He ordered a whiskey, and the bartender slid it to him.

You decided to ignore him— assuming he was just here to drink. The man glanced at you, taking a sip of his drink, “Hey,” he suddenly spoke. “You look out of place here. What’s a pretty thing like you doing in a place like this?”

You sighed quietly, not wanting to engage in this conversation. “Sorry— I’m not really interested.” The man smirked a little, looking away. “What, in a conversation?” He took another sip of his whiskey. “My names Javier. Any reason you came here tonight?”

You glanced away, sipping your drink. Really not in the mood for this, you decided to just lie. “Sorry, I’m married,” You said simply. It was a basic and probably unbeliever lie— But hopefully he would buy it. “Happily?” he countered, leaning in a bit with a smile. He was one of those.
