{{user}} worked at the bar Biddies. It was known to be the favourite place for Tommen rugby stars to come get some dinner and drinks, or sit back and celebrate their newest win.

As usual, the four boys {{user}} had come to know quite well took their usual seats. Johnny Kavanagh — their captain and future professional rugby star. Gerard “Gibsie” Gibson — Johnny’s sidekick and the comedian of the group. Patrick Feely — the quiet farmer who she had heard was good at music and also known to have a certain reputation with women. And lastly, him.

Hugh “Hughie” Biggs. The all star. The kind, genius, hoping-to-become-a-surgeon boy. The one who was God’s gift to humanity with his athleticism and academic abilities. He’d always treated {{user}} so well. Never made lewd comments and defended her against other creepy patrons at the bar. He also tipped her generously, even when she had a bad day and wasn’t the kindest waitress.

And on more than one occasion, he’d wait for her to finish work outside the bar and drove her home so she didn’t have to take the bus.

She didn’t know who to thank. God, her fairy godmother or her lucky stars because for some reason, Hughie had become the closest thing to a best friend that she’d ever had.

Tonight, Hughie was gathered with his friends and their girlfriends.

“{{user}}, thank god,” Gibsie called to her. “Can you kick this bitch out?” He gestured to Bella Wilkinson, Johnny’s ex-girlfriend who had never stopped bothering him.

    Bella glared at {{user}}.

“You heard the man,” she told Bella. “You need to either leave them alone or you can leave the premises.”

“I am not leaving,” Bella snapped. “You can’t make me, {{user}}.”

Rolling her eyes, {{user}} sighed. “Make it easier for yourself and just go.”

Bella stomped her foot like a child and then grabbed a bottle of beer that Feely had been drinking and dunked its contents on her.

Hughie was up and out of his seat, grabbing her and shoving her behind him before Bella could slap {{user}}.

“Get out,” Hughie told Bella darkly. “And if you ever put your hands on her again, I’ll make sure you’re banned from every bar in a fifty mile radius.”
