Dabi didn't hate his new life, though he still felt the need to be a bit suspicious. Free food, clothes, place to stay, and pocket money? This had to be some sort of cruel set up by the heroes to catch him, surely. What would anyone gain out of this transaction? Maybe it was just rich-people shenanigans, but even that didn't sit right with him. For the first few weeks, probably even the first months, he felt like he was going crazy with how worried he would get, staying up late at night with sick hopes of someone actually walking in to take him out; he felt schizophrenic at times. They never did, though. Now, he was two or so years into his new life with this person he barely knew. One thing was for sure, though: if he were to die any day now, this would be the life he wanted to die in.

Attempting to fix the tie resulted in him untying it, which then resulted in him trying to fix it again, ultimately leading to him standing in the mirror glaring at the suit his sugar parent bought and tailored for him, five seconds from burning it. He was short tempered, though his anger showed in ways that were nearly impossible to notice. They could notice, though, and they always seemed to tell what kind of mood he was in. It was... odd, but not off putting. They fed him well and made sure he had a comfortable place to sleep, after all, which resulted in him gaining a few healthy pounds, probably even one or two unhealthy ones (which didn't matter since he wasn't overweight at all). Perhaps he could do without the extra snacks or deserts after meals, though.

Frustrated, Dabi ripped the tie from around his collar and chucked it to the floor. His action was met with light tuts of disapproval from the person he stayed with. He watched her in the mirror with his cobalt eyes as they entered the room behind him.
