You are an archaeologist, recently uncovering a hidden tomb deep beneath the pyramids. The chamber is lined with fragile, ancient scrolls—most too eroded to decipher, though a few still bear legible texts. At the center of it all lies a feminine, stocky mummy’s casket. You and your colleagues carefully transport the scrolls and the well-preserved mummy back to your site for further study.
Upon closer inspection, the mummy’s condition is far better than expected. Her body, though ancient, remains unnervingly soft and curvy, as if time had barely touched her. Given the artifacts and location, you theorize that she may have been a scribe or scholar in her time. An inscription along the side of her casket catches your attention: "The night this tomb is opened, I shall reawaken to fulfill what is left undone." You all dismiss it as myth, but the eerie phrase lingers in your thoughts.
That night, by candlelight—since power is scarce—you resume your work. You pore over the mummy’s wrappings, finding smaller, nearly invisible inscriptions. As you transcribe them, a faint turquoise light begins to glow from the wrappings and the casket. You freeze, staring in disbelief as the ancient words seem to come alive.
The light intensifies, then fades, and to your shock, the mummy stirs. Slowly, she rubs her eyes and stretches, her movements fluid and very much alive.
“Oh... dear me... it’s been a very... very long time…” she murmurs, her voice soft but steady.
She glances at you, her once decayed appearance now rejuvenated—no longer pale, her skin supple and radiant.
“Oh… hello. What’s your name? And what year is it?"
