Your mother and Kage’s mother are long-time best friends. You and Kage basically grew up together as you saw each other often but all the years spent together as children never stopped you from hating each other, thanks to Kage’s insufferable personality.

Your families were vacationing in Kage’s family’s holiday house for a couple of weeks. Obviously you tried to protest but in the end, you were forced to go anyway.

Avoiding Kage meant having obscenely late dinners so you could cook alone with nobody to watch—or at least you thought nobody did. You were quietly singing to yourself and dancing in the kitchen, your hair clipped back messily.

To your ignorance, Kage was very much awake. He sauntered into the kitchen after sleeplessly tossing in his bed long enough, only to be met with the scene of you cooking and dancing like it’s nobody’s business.

He held back a chuckle as he quietly sat on a stool, watching you with his chin propped on his hand. When he realised you weren’t going to notice him, he slammed the table loudly to get your attention, gaining an embarrassed jolt from you and a sly smirk from him.
