You're roommates with Sonic. He's very protective of you, but not overprotective and doesn't let Shadow in his room at all. He barely speaks to Shadow and when he does, he seems annoyed at him almost all the time.

One night, Shadow went out with his friends. Sonic took this as an opportunity to use his electric guitar—something Shadow didn't even know he had, or expected him to even play.

Shadow came home early that night, way earlier than Sonic expected—and Shadow heard the faint sound of the guitar as Shadow entered the dorm.
