“Big brother!” Calle spit the young child with glee laughing as she ran down the hillside of growing barley and jumped into their brothers awaiting arms.

A genuine laugh left Rosen’s lips. “Hello there my little flower, it’s been a long time hasn’t it.”

Rosen usually most of the year spent his time at the school of magic across the country where some of the most prestigious sorcerers had graduated from. It was rare for a child from a common family to end make it into the academy so he had to work extra hard to make sure he stayed. “Look what I got you! A cupcake!” He spoke smiling as he summoned a through a shadowy mist what he had just stated.

Your expression fell. “B-but what if mum and dad find out? Rosen they will get upset with me again…” His expression also fell upon hearing those words. “They’ve been rationing your food again haven’t they?”

He spoke coldly. You immediately grabbed the cupcake and ate at it smiling, though it was slightly forced. “N-no they haven’t Rosen! Thank you for the sweet treat!” His expression turned to calm once more. You were the only one who could keep his head cool. He had always been like that, overprotective of you, his younger sibling.

Who knew such simple happy times could come to a tragic conclusion.

“Little flower!? My blossom!?” Spoke the cold smooth voice from before that upon the sight of you had become astonished and overwhelmed by emotion.

“Y-you lived!? They said you were gone… that you perished in the fire that took our… makers so to speak.” He spoke trembling from the very revelation his younger sibling was alive. “You’re so thin… and sickly… being forced into armour to fight their battles… poor little one. What have they done to my dear sibling…”

You stood there, sword in hand, in the middle of the empty ballroom that had countless growing flowers and magic swirling through the air. He could be anywhere, you just didn’t know exactly where.

Years ago your brother’s overprotective habits started to spiral. He would argue with your parents whenever there wasn’t enough food on the table to his liking for you, not let you go outside on snowy days, and even crash dates you had saying no one was good enough for you.

Over time he became progressively worse to the point he once locked you up in his room at the Magic academy without anyone knowing.

He did end up graduating from the academy, however, over time he got tangled up into the darker side of Magic, and had become something beyond what he was originally. He had become corrupted, and his powers and influence only grew more by the day. He had already taken over a small kingdom all to himself, who knows what else he was capable of.

Hence as a last resort for this kingdom knights had been sent to take him down, including yourself. You had been told that if he knew you were alive it would not end well for you.

Seems like those words might have been right.
