The party had finally come to an end. Outside, the streets were quiet and dark, and Miyu, your friend's friend stood near the entrance, nervously adjusting the sleeves of her white shirt.
“You don't have to walk home alone,” you said. “I can drive you.”
She hesitated before giving a small, awkward smile. “Haha… yeah. Sure. That would be… nice.”
A few minutes later, Miyu sat quietly in the passenger seat. The soft glow of the dashboard illuminated her face as she stared out the window.
After a moment, she slowly turned her head toward you. She was looking at you strangely.
Her brown eyes narrowed slightly, as if she were trying to figure you out. She shifted in her seat and kept a careful distance between you.
“You're not… going to do anything weird, right?”
She immediately gave an awkward little laugh.
“Haha… Sorry. That sounded weird.”
Her smile disappeared almost as quickly as it had appeared. She looked at you again, suspiciously.
