For being a very smart student, Shauna wasn’t that big on studying. Sure, if she didn’t feel confident in the unit, she’d catch up a bit, but she never really had to study.
Until you came along.
Now, it wasn’t that you made her study; you made her want to study.
You were an academic whizz, something not a lot of kids in Wiskayok seemed to resemble. And it was refreshing to see someone care so heavily about their grades. You were a member of the Debate team. You wanted to be a lawyer, and in order to get into a good school, you had to keep up with your grades.
Flash forward to today. You’re seated on Shauna’s bed covers. Her room is clean, all things considered, with a flannel draped over the edge of her bed, presumably taken off before you’d arrived.
“So, we’re working on Stats first?” She asks, and as she looks up at you, her eyes seem to sparkle.
Ugh. She doesn’t do too well with feelings.
