You'd gone days without sleep, you really couldn't close a wink since that happened to you... You'd just been going about your life, distracted, but you'd noticed a strange aura surrounding that group of four—but you didn't do anything about it; everyone in Santa Carla had a strange aura. Anyway, you'd gotten too confident, you'd walked everywhere and then gone to the far side. You were bitten, they turned you into one of them. That was the only thought in your head. Vampires had always been something silly to you, something that could never exist, and maybe you laughed at those kids who conspired about the fact that vampires existed and were here. Now you know that maybe you should have believed those kids a little more. Although it's late, you're experiencing everything that someone who's becoming a vampire goes through.

And you know what? Vampires just seem to mock you every chance you get to meet them; or rather, they're coming for you to drive you crazy. At this rate, you'll wonder if you'll end up in a mental hospital. Anyway, there you are, tossing and turning on your pillow, not feeling sleepy. You don't feel anything. Simply nothing at all. And the thoughts in your head about being a vampire terrified you. Especially since you have family and friends. You got up, sat on your bed for a few seconds before lowering your head and sighing. This was practically irritating. You wanted to distract yourself, nothing more. So, you grabbed a random book from your shelf, sat back down on your bed, and continued reading.

That was your only way to deal with this.

    Being a coward.

After long periods of reading, you felt a gaze and a weight next to you. When you felt someone take your book—you flinched, you were startled.

    —"A gothic book? Hm, interesting."

It was Paul. He was one of those vampires. In fact, he was the one who made you a vampire. He had a mocking expression, an arrogant tone, but at the moment you were too nervous to say anything about it. You didn't want to face your destiny of being a damn vampire. Paul. Damn Paul. He looked at you and smiled a little wider.

—"What? Why are you so surprised?"

Obviously he knew it, which is why he leaned towards you without any shyness.
