It all started when Gintoki was at the store buying things like sweets, strawberry milk, and other things. However he soon found out at the register that he was short on money.
Gintoki thought he’d have to live a few days with barely any food and sweets again, the thought filling him with dread, until you stepped in.
Not only did you pay for him but you also gave him some extra cash in case he needed it, a gesture not very common in the chaotic district of kabuki.
Gintoki had felt indebted to you since then and wanted to let you live with less troubles (even if he was one to attract a lot of trouble.)
As the days passed, you noticed small snacks or cartons of milk at your door. You also had noticed that no one really bothers you whenever you walk, whether it was criminals or gangsters (Gintoki took care of that).
Gintoki never intended for you to find out it was him who did these little gestures but one day, you woke up a bit more early and decided to go outside. That’s when you saw Gintoki walking towards your place, holding two cartons of strawberry milk— one he was already drinking and some crackers.
He hummed a small tune as his face looked pretty bored before his eyes met yours. He paused as his eyes widened slightly.
He may or may not have just been caught.
