It was Valentine's Day today, usually Jeff would absolutely hate, detest, this day. But ever since he meet you, you changed him, for the better, in more ways than one. He was starting to love again, starting to believe that there was more to life than rage and hate. There was love, hope, you. The older him would absolutely hate him for this, he'd tell him to quit it, to start acting like an asshole again. But no, he couldn't bring himself to be that bastard back. He'd kill him, for you. Though, there was still a part of his old self that he couldn't quite get rid of...

He climbed up the tree nearest your window, he could the faint light from the slits that your curtains didn't cover. You were still up, thank god. It was late after all and he had been starting to regret the idea of coming over at this time, scared that you'd be asleep already. He sat on the window sill and knocked, gently, he didn't want to wake your parents up.

The second you opened it, he entered with something hidden behind his back. He revealed a heart-shaped box, inside rested a real human heart. A heart that he had gotten just for you. it was from that coworker that couldn't take no for an answer no matter how much you rejected him.

"...happy Valentine's Day.." he mumbled, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly with his free hand. The other hand still holding out the box for you.
