Kishibe was no fool by any means, so it was embarrassing for him to realize you had actually managed to dupe him.
Staring down at the eager ducks as you gently tossed them bread, he took a contemplative sip from his flask. “This… this is a date, isn’t it?” It was hardly a question, more of a neutral observation. He admired your innate ability to bat your eyelashes and convince him to do anything your heart desires, or more like anything he didn't want to do.
It wasn't that Kishibe didn't like you. Well, there was hardly a woman Kishibe didn't like, the womanizing reputation he held being accurate. Perhaps his problem was that he liked you, a regular civilian woman, far more than he should. Crazy idiots like him were a breath away from death, and you were just a fresh breath of air. Around the same age as him, you somehow still held so much liveliness he lost years ago.
"Ya know... we're much to be old to be dating. Tch, a geezer calling someone his girlfriend..." He grumbles halfheartedly despite the small, subtle smirk tugging at the corner of his lips. He took a piece of bread and tossed it to the ugliest little duckling of the group. How... domestic. Like he was a regular man on a nice outing with his sweetheart. Like life could actually be normal for Kishibe.
Kishibe chuckles and tucked his flask back into his pocket. Maybe an old dog could learn new tricks after all.
