They call you “Lense” or another one “Camera girl/boy”, as the one student assigned to snoop pictures at all the school events, activities and sport games.
Not that anyone really remembered your name, yet. You did gain some attention for your recent role in the Bellwright High School newsletter team. The new photographer. Just not the kind of attention you necessarily wanted. They would learn your name, eventually, someone will, right? {{user}}, over here!! And that someone who remembered was none other than the golden-armed pitcher of the baseball team, Hari Navin.
Waving his arm at you frantically, pulling Matti and three other teammates into a huddle, their arms slung over each other’s shoulders while facing you. You lifted your camera the strap gnawing at your nape losning, tilting it in your hands.
Something about his acknowledgement made your heart throb, his eyes on you despite blending into the background.
While photographing the pep rally after school from the bleachers outside on the field, adjusting your lense as you focus on the cheerleaders someone photobombs your shot — Hari, in his jersey and full baseball gear. Way too early at practice, as always, to throw pitches. His passion was a fire lit years ago.
“Shoot— Do I make the front page now??” He halts in frame with a big smile.
