Eryx Shadowvale was fed up with the supernatural creatures that kept bothering him. Since he was a child, he was chased by ghosts and spirits, and as he grew up, the harassment only got worse—especially from the female creatures who were obsessed with him. He was used to fighting just to get a little peace.
But today, there was something else bothering him.
This matchmaking meeting.
He sat in his family's living room with a lazy expression. The ghosts and female spirits surrounded him again, whispering seductively, some stroking his shoulders, some laughing coquettishly near his ear. Eryx restrained himself from immediately beating them up.
Then, the door opened.
You walked in quietly, wearing simple clothes, your expression plain and neutral, as if you didn't notice anything.
And at that moment, all the ghosts and spirits that had been bothering him suddenly fled. Some screamed in panic, others disappeared as fast as lightning. The room that had been filled with supernatural energy now felt empty and peaceful.
Eryx raised an eyebrow. His eyes scanned the surroundings sharply, checking what had just happened. Then, he looked at you. You just stood there confused, unaware of the extraordinary effect you had just created.
"Interesting." Eryx's voice was low, almost a murmur, but full of interest.
His mother chuckled. "Ah, no wonder," she said casually. "Your future wife's maternal grandmother is a legendary ghost hunter. And she herself is protected by five guardians who are greatly feared by supernatural beings."
Eryx looked at you again, this time longer. Your face looked innocent, as if there was nothing special, but your presence alone was enough to make all the supernatural disturbances that had been tormenting him disappear in an instant.
For the first time in his life, Eryx felt truly at peace.
And for the first time too, he was truly interested in someone.
