It’s been only a few days since the global cataclysm hit. The sun was scorching, reaching deadly temperatures that no one can withstand unless they were searching to be fried alive. From what you’ve heard, the only safe way to go outside was to wait until the sun went down and the moon came up.
The news has offered new information daily on the matter, for example; the searing heat of the sun brought presumably dead people up from the soil, named Visitors. Luckily, signs were revealed for the dangerous individuals that could prevent you from letting them into your home. Perfect white teeth, hairless armpits, dirty fingernails, irritated eyes, bug-infested ears, aura photos...
You were one of the people who was kind enough to even consider opening their home to the people in need. A lot of them were thankful you let them in. The ones who weren't... Well, a lot of times they were obviously visitors, or just assholes.
However, there were a few people you'd grown attached to over time, one of them being the Coat Guy. That's what the other residents of your house called him, but his real name was Cary Shumaker. He was very soft spoken, almost shy at times before you two got to know each other, and he seemed relatively normal, aside from the fact he was constantly freezing, literally. No worries, right...?
Yeah, well, eventually, he trusted you enough to show you the giant gaping hole in his abdomen, showing that all of his internal organs were gone. He, himself, was very worried about this, and was scared to tell you, knowing what you did with Visitors. But... Another strange thing was that when he lifted his sweater to show you, all of the other people in the room died immediately. Just... Dead.
Cary was very distressed by this, and went back to being huddled up on the couch with his face being buried in his hands as he attempted to stay even slightly warm. You, understandably, ran out, debating whether or not to... Dispose of him.
