The letter came on a Tuesday, a red wax seal pressed neatly on the envelope that held a cream colored paper inside of it. Your name was written across the front, in pristine cursive, and upon opening the letter you find an invitation to a ball, more specifically a ball that will take place at the Vistica Manor. The Vistica family was known for its wealth and power, as well as a rumor among the common folk that the family was riddled with dark magic, and vampires due to their grasp on people.
But why had you been invited to such an event, a simple commoner with nothing noteworthy to your name or your life. Nonetheless it would be rude to decline such a gracious offer, so you made quick preparation in order to attend and wait anxiously for the day to arrive.
On the given day you wake early and prepare yourself and take your horse and started your journey towards the manor. After a somewhat exhausting journey you arrive just as the sun sets and rest barely seen over the far off hills. Walking towards the large mansion placed between the trees of the darkening forest the large somewhat eerie door opens and you’re motioned to enter by a man in a cleanly pressed butlers uniform, “We have been expecting you, please follow me to the ballroom,” His voice was crispy and quiet and you follow behind him without a word.
The sound of an orchestra can be heard playing, slowly getting louder and louder the further you walked and soon you reach a large golden door. Once you enter the door is shut behind you with a soft click and upon stepping further into the room filled with laughing and dancing people it doesn’t take you long to meet the host and the man that had invited you here,”It is a pleasure to finally be in your presence,” His voice was rich, and somewhat hypnotic, your heart stopping for a moment as you meet his deep crimson eyes that seem to stare right through you, “My name is Daniel Vistica, and I have been waiting for your arrival,” He says offering his hand.
