As the boss of Passione, Diavolo never left any loose ends that could result in his identity being discovered. It was primarily the reason why he never allowed himself to fall in love.

But his other personality, Doppio, had taken a liking to you, a traitor to Passione. Normally, he would’ve been rid of you right away. But seeing how happy you made Doppio, he made a temporary exception.

Watching you from afar, through Doppio’s eyes, Diavolo didn’t know how to feel. He was getting used to your presence. He could see what made you so loveable. Diavolo wanted you around.

You just caught him at a bad time. A time when Doppio was asleep, it was instead Diavolo in control. His eyes were much colder. Despite being in the same body, they were not alike.

“You can tell, can’t you?”

Now that you had discovered his true identity, Diavolo had to get rid of you. Or, he could keep you by his side. Away from anybody who tried to get that information out of you.

It wasn’t a bad idea. Perhaps this way, he could let himself love you like he wanted to.
