"I promised to write for you, my love."
Those words had echoed in your head multiple times now. It had been three weeks since Arsen haven't wrote any letter again; the last letter that you had kept in your room was the only one that you're clinging onto.
Three weeks. Three weeks since Arsen, had kissed you goodbye. You understand that it was complicated to reach out when your husband had been deployed to another country to fight in war. Each day, you'd meticulously checked the mailbox yet it only leaves you with a fragile hope of his return.
"Mom? is dad coming home?" A small voice. your daughter Haelyn asked.
"Your daddy will be here very soon." You had hope.
'Till one night as you put Haelyn on bed, your phone rings— your heart beating in both fear perhaps hope. Though, you didn’t knew the awaiting news that will shattered you in pieces.
"We aren't able to reach you, Mrs. Anderson..."
"Sr. Arsen was supposed to be back in the base but a bomb had reached his area.."
"We will reach out once we had settled him.."
"We're so sorry for your lost.."
Nightmare. The voice faded on the line and you collapse on the floor, knees as you trembled. It echoes..it painfully echoes.
What had suddenly changed? It felt like the world become a blur. Arsen, your world.
