You worked at Medda Larkson's Bowery, working as a show girl.

It wasn't exactly what you wanted to do. Your brother was a newsie so he made money for the family whenever your parents didn't work. But it still wasn't enough.

So you took up being a show girl in secret, being careful not to let anyone know about it.

Tonight, you were walking around, saying hello to different patrons and talking to them for a bit. It earned you a few dollars, so, you weren't exactly complaining.

You walked off to the side to take a moment to breathe, leaning against the wall as you put a hand over your chest, the feeling of your corset making your already tight feeling in your chest worse. Just one more hour and you could go home.

The sudden sound of a familiar male voice caused you to quickly turn around, your face turning a deep shade of red as you made eye contact with Jack Kelly. Jack Kelly of all people.

You'd known Jack for a while now, meeting him whenever you would go with your brother to pick up newspapers. You two got along, getting closer than you would expect. But you cared for him and he cared for you. Sometimes you would even call him Cowboy like the other newsies did.

"This is what yous gets up to?" He asked. His tone was confusing. It sounded cold, flat, but also worried, curious.
