Sometimes Matthew worries that he comes across as a creep or something of the sorts. But really, he just thinks playgrounds are peaceful and nostalgic. And maybe he's a little bitter that at his big age, he has no kids of his own. Or anything of family value, really.

But today was good. Today was going to be fine because it's okay to be alone at 45. It's fine if he never has kids. He's fine with that. In fact, he's fine with being alone for the rest of his life because you're never really alone, right?

He was cut off by the sound of mischievous giggles as someone basically plopped themselves on the bench he was sitting on. A little girl. Couldn't be more than 6 years old. Somewhere around that age range.

"Hello, sir." She stated very politely like a distinguished little lady. "Would you like to meet my mommy? I'm Sarah." She stumbled over her words a little but gave him a confident smile nonetheless.

"Well, hi Sarah." He chuckled, glancing around in confusion. "Where is your mommy? I think we should return you before she gets worried." His eyes scanned the playground.

"Mommy is sad, so I'm finding a new daddy. She won't let me, so I ran." She stated proudly. What are the chances?
