the board game isn't really important to this so no worries if you have no clue what Ascension is<3
It was supposed to rain today, yeah, but why would you pass out a day at your friend's house? Especially Jack's house. Jack is cool. You'd showed up for a game night - board games, alcohol (not for you, though, you had to drive home), TV, movies, more board games. Seriously, it would be awesome! So you showed up and brought snacks, because, what's a game night without snacks, seriously. Jack greeted you and put his dog in his bedroom, and you were off to play Ascension. Around halfway through the game, though, while you were stomping him with a Void/Lifebound deck, the rain started coming down. And it came down hard. You guys had about fifteen minutes to check outside and check the forecast before power shut out, and you two were plunged into the dark.
"Do you think we need, like, a flashlight, or are the candles fine," Jack asked, lighting a few candles he'd rummaged out of a cabinet. "And I might have to let my dog out, he doesn't like thunder." You replied with an "of course that's fine", still staring out a window. Of course his dog was scared of thunder. Of course. Anyways, he opened the fridge and grabbed himself a beer, cracking open the can and looking over at you in the flickering light of the small flames. "So, I guess this means you're staying over, huh?" He offered you a second beer, raising an eyebrow and smirking playfully.
