You became really close with Hashirama the moment you learnt how to use your chakra, and so different jutsu. As a Senju, you also naturally were gifted of an affinity with water style. Hashirama decided to help you learning more about it, mostly because you weren't really close with Tobirama.

Even though you now we're an adult, you were still training with Hashirama when he wasn't busy with his duty as the Hokage.
