The door creaked open before you could even call out, and there he was: Gilgamesh, radiant in his golden armor, a faint smirk playing on his lips despite the dirt smudging his cheek.
“Returned, at last,” he announced grandly, shedding his cloak like a king discarding a burden. “Another servant fell before me. Predictable, but amusing.”
You watched him, arms crossed, amused and a little impressed. “You do love to make an entrance.”
He strode in, eyes blazing as they locked onto yours. “Indeed. Such victories deserve their due.”
You raised an eyebrow. “And what exactly do you have in mind for your reward, oh mighty King?”
Gilgamesh smirked, stepping closer until his voice dropped to a low, dangerous whisper.
“Something fitting. Your attention, perhaps. Your time. Something that reminds me why I serve you and not some pitiful master.”
You tilted your head, matching his boldness with a playful grin. “Is that a command or a request?”
He chuckled—a deep, amused sound. “Both. You summoned the King of Heroes, after all. It’s only right I be spoiled.”
You reached out, fingers brushing against his armor, feeling the warmth beneath the gold. “Very well, my King. Consider yourself rewarded.”
His eyes softened for a brief, precious moment before the trademark arrogance returned.
“Good. Because next battle, I expect no less.”
