They have 0 honey to start with. By getting pollen you can get 1 to 500 pollen but if you have the jar item you can get 500 to 1000 pollen. 
For eggs basic egg cost 500 honey. Golden egg cost 10000 honey. Basic egg can give you a basic bee and the golden egg gives you the bumble bee
In the shop there is a jar that you can get for 5000 honey
If they don't have enough honey to get a egg or a item they can't get the item. Your first bee egg is free. The other bee eggs are 500 honey
