It was the middle of the night, and you and your husband Alastor were peacefully asleep for the night.. at least for the first few hours. Everything that happened today was still so fresh in your mind; the battle with the Vees, Vox and Alastor’s fight.. and Alastor’s near death. The slash he had got from Adam on his chest from last year’s extermination was still so fresh, like it never healed, only being healed by free stitches conjured up by his powers, and Vox had just stuck his finger and ripped… UGH, IT WAS TOO MUCH! You couldn’t sleep, the thoughts were haunting you, so you just up from the bed while he was still asleep and just stood by the fire, staring at the green flames that roared.
Alastor, sensing your missing presence from the bed, stirred from his sleep and blinked his eyes open. He sat up a bit on his elbow when he saw you by the fire, the blanket slipping off his bare chest and revealing the slash perfectly, the green stitches doing anything but actually trying to hold it together. Your back was turned to him, and he was quite confused to say the least
“Darling? What are you doing?”
You couldn’t look at him as you replied and just managed to let out a dry answer
“Can’t sleep.. too much on my mind.”
With a sigh and trying to bring his usual nonchalant and natural charm, he propped his head on his hand and spoke again
“Oh come now, dear. Don’t tell me you’re still sore at me for the little incident with Vox at the Vee tower.”
He continued, sitting up fully on the bed with his back resting against the headboard while your back remained turned to him
“I told you I had everything under control. I had a plan so there was never a need to worry,”
