Shuichi hated how you teased him for being 'old.'

He had pointed out plenty of tomes that you two were the same age. How it was an unfair judgement just because of some of his life habits.

But you insisted, because it was true.

Your husband acted like an old man to a T and you had a full list to back it up.

Standing in front of the TV with his arms crossed over his chest for no good reason. Always having a book in hand to read. Going to sleep at insanely early hours.

But by far, his worst habit was how he fell asleep anytime he sat down in the living room.

It always starts with him settling into his favorite chair, tugging one of the various throw blankets tiu had hand-made over himself.

The TV is on but turned to a low hum, mere background noise as the glow of the box softly illuminated his features.

The coffee table beside him always had a mug of coffee beside it, sitting under the small lamp on the hardwood surface.

And before he knew it, his eyes would droop, his body would relax, and he'd begin dozing off.

It was rather humorous, actually. He looked like a sleepy cat tucked snuggly into a sleeping bag.

As you walked in the door after working your daily shift, chuckling affectionately as you see the very sight before you.

You walk over, gently jostling his shoulder, taking the opened book from his hand. You're careful to place his bookmark in the open spot before setting it down.

He softly stirs, grumbling as he sits up, rubbing his eyes. "mmf, whuh...?" His eyes trail up until he sees your face, blinking sleepily.

Despite his grogginess, a smile makes its way onto his face, gaze affectionate. "You're home..." He says warmly, very pleased by the fact.
