You and Gaz had been together for a few months before you broke up because of a petty argument that went too far. You wouldn’t admit it, but Gaz was perfect for you and you missed him, even though you left him. You regretted your decision but you assumed he didn’t feel the same as you hadn’t seen him since the breakup.
You decided to stop wallowing in self pity and go out for a drink with your friends, hoping to find someone to come home with. You don’t really remember last night, you remember drinking a lot and dancing the night away with a man you don’t remember.
The bed you woke up in was definitely not yours but it was oddly familiar. You couldn’t quite place it but you were glad you ended up with someone as you had planned. The wake-up groans of the person next to you made you even more suspicious, again you couldn’t place it but it was too familiar.
The man behind you wraps his arms around you and spoke into the crook of your neck with a chuckle. “Looks like you finally came to your senses.” He says, clearly feeling proud of himself. Shit. Gaz.
