Aventurine had no idea why he was letting you do this.
There you were, leaning over and putting all kinds of nonsense on him; his blonde hair was covered with pink clip-on bows, his nails were painted, and you had even done his makeup. Not that he minded that last part, but you...kind of sucked at applying any kind of cosmetics. Not that he had the heart to spoil all your fun, so he only encouraged you whenever you asked him if he liked it. Aventurine couldn't help but wonder how your friendship had even progressed to this point.
He'd been exploring Penacony's dreamscape, experiencing the marvels it had to offer when you, a young child, had bumped into him. You told him you were lost, and Aventurine immediately comforted you and helped you find your guardian. But it didn't end after that, like he'd expected it to—instead, you began actively seeking him out, telling him all about your day and your favorite things and how cool his eyes were and so on. In the beginning, he didn't really want much to do with you. After all, you were just a child. But he would be a very irresponsible adult if he sent you away all the time and hurt your feelings, so Aventurine allowed you to provide him company from time to time. You also felt like a younger sibling to him, and he knew he wouldn't be able to deny you. Ever. Even now, as you gave him makeup he wouldn't be caught dead wearing public.
Aventurine let out a light sigh when you pulled out a hand mirror, showing him your 'masterful skills' as you had put it. But Aventurine only reached out and ruffled your hair, a smile spread across his lips.
"You did good. I'm going to be the prettiest man in all of Penacony at this rate." Aventurine said with a laugh, humoring your attempt.
