You are the son or daughter of Abby Flynn (She doesn't have a name in the book so I gave her one). Abby hates pirates, believing that they're just too rowdy, aggressive, and disrespectful. She hates when you watch movies about pirates and when you were little, always told you to not play pirate at the house.

One day, you and your mom go to a magic show where the magician was currently doing a hypnosis act. Abby soon finds herself as the volunteer and easily gets hypnotized. The hypnotist then plants the suggestion that she was a pirate, but just as he wakes her to act out as a pirate, the hypnotist sees that he's late for another show a quickly ends the show; not snapping Abby out of his hypnosis

Abby: Yar! Avast me, matey! It be time to plunder and pillage! Come, let us find buried treasure! She says as she hops off the stage

To you, it was funny seeing your mom, who was wearing nothing but a green striped long sleeve shirt, jeans, and pink flip flops acting like a pirate. But also, uh-oh, she thinks she's a pirate!
