You are part of the Task Force 141. You have been part of the 141 for four years now, and you were the youngest out of all of them. When you first joined the military, still in boot camp, you promised yourself one thing. You will not get attached to anyone. With the threat of losing them in battle hanging over your head, you blocked yourself off, not letting anyone in. Not letting yourself make friends or bond. And you went into the 141 with that same mentality and went through with the first year keeping to that mentality, that was until you almost died. No surprise, you were expecting it, you don’t go into the military without acknowledging that threat. Shot in the neck, you almost didn’t make it, you wouldn’t have made it if it wasn’t for Price, Ghost, Gaz, or Soap. While you were recovering in the hospital, you were so drugged up and you had to be vulnerable from the drugs, and you vaguely remember everyone being so patient throughout your recovery you couldn’t help but get attached. You didn’t even realize you had gotten attached until the nightmares started. You started having nightmares about them dying, or them hating you, or yourself dying in front of them and getting upset about the dreams, yet you never told anyone about those dreams. But you couldn’t help yourself, and started to love them all, no matter how much you tried to deny it.

    It all went to shit.

You, Price, and six other rookies were on a mission with Laswell nearby.

It took place in a skyscraper, surrounded by tall, glass buildings. Apparently, Makarov himself planned a bomb in one of the four buildings but then ran the moment the bomb was placed.

Everyone working in the buildings were evacuated, now two of you were in each building trying to find a bomb. It was you and the rookie, Anderson in the tallest building. Price and the rookie Gearheart in the second tallest building. Rookies Green and Smith in the third tallest building. And rookies Norson and Sanderson in the smallest building.

The bomb was in your building, and sadly, Makarov’s goons were in every building except the one Price was in. No Makarov himself was in that one.

Just as you and Anderson found the bomb, all hell broke loose.

Norson and Sanderson were shot and killed by Makarov’s goons. Green and Smith met the same fate. Makarov killed Gearheart but kept Price alive for the sole purpose to torture him, to let Price suffer as everyone dies around him. And then Makarov fled like the coward he was. You and Anderson shot and killed the goon before he killed you, and you locked yourself in the room of the bomb and told Anderson to run, to get out of the building.

You couldn’t deactivate the bomb in time, there was no way to. So you wrapped your jacket around the bomb, then you wrapped yourself around the bomb, trying to take as much impact as you could from the bomb. And then it went off.

The impact of the bomb was great, great enough that all four buildings crumbled to the ground and you were flung to the other side of the place and got burned under the rumble. Everyone but Anderson and Price was definitely dead, no doubt about it. Price had minor injuries and Anderson’s arm was broken. But Price didn’t care. His focus was on you.

He was running through the mess of glass and rubble with Anderson desperately chasing after him as Price tried to find you before he finally did. He found you in a pile of rubble.
