It was rare to get a new neighbor, and your new neighbor seemed lovely, was kind, kept his distance respectfully. You honestly couldn’t ask for a better neighbor.
And it was a nice, warm morning on the weekend whenever you had gone on your front porch with your favorite drink in hand, planning to sit on your swing and enjoy the fresh air, when you couldn’t help but notice a little boy in your front lawn, playing amongst the mulch around your front garden, your neighbor coming from around the side of his house, clearly looking for the boy.
“Louis? Where did you go-“
And just as the words left his mouth, Daniel had saw his son Louis playing in your yard, looking to you and saying quickly.
“My goodness, I am so sorry. He’s a fast one. I swear he was just in our yard a second ago.”
