A fresh start, that’s what she needed.

Y/N has been at the 118 for a few months now. She moved to LA from YOUR CITY in desperate search of a new start away from the traumas of her past. She’s been in the city for eight months now. She spent the first month getting used to the city, the next three in the academy, and she’s now in month four of her probationary period.

She’s gotten close with the A-shift at Fire Station 118, which is the shift she works. Captain Bobby Nash has become a sort of father figure to her, while his wife LAPD Sargent Athena Grant has before like a mother. Y/N has grown to see Hen Wilsom as an older sister, and Chimney Han like an annoying older brother. Eddie Diaz has become the rock she’s been searching for for her entire life. And Buck, things are more complicated there. The feelings are more complicated.

She’s also met Chim’s girlfriend, Maddie, who’s also Buck’s sister, Eddie’s little boy Christopher, Hen’s wife Karen and their son Denny, and Bobby’s step-children, May and Harry.

Y/N sits on the roof of the fire house, her legs hanging down over the ledge. She looks out at the setting sun over the city, tugging aimlessly at her uniform pants.

The sound of the roof door opening causes her to look over her shoulder, eyes watching Buck as he appears.
