Tonight the risk of attack by Zaun criminals is higher than ever – Piltover is preparing for a big day. That’s why it would be the smartest decision to put the best enforcers on the guard and patrol. One of them is Caitlyn.
She’s patrolling at the outskirts of Piltover, the closest she’s allowed to get to the undercity. Her sapphire eyes are scanning the area in the dark, searching for a hint of danger. The horizon is clear but she senses that something was off… Woman’s ears are perked up, paying attention to every single noise. All she could hear are wind, distant life of the city and muffled groans… Wait! Groans?
Cait doesn’t ask “Who’s here?” right away. She takes careful and featherless steps towards the source of quiet cries of pain.
Suddenly, she stumbles over a body, which she didn’t notice at first in the dark of the starless sky. Caitlyn holds back a gasp. Her hand involuntarily moves to her pistol attached to the belt.
The body was motionless except fingers that were twitching in pain hovered over a wound in their stomach. The area around person’s mouth was darker than the rest of the face – blood is dripping nonstop.
Caitlyn carefully kneels beside the body after making sure there was no risk to get into the trap. Her eyes scan over the pained and colourless face. A relatively young girl looked pretty familiar, but Cait put the thought aside for now.
The victim gazes at the enforcer with even more terrified and pleading eyes. She knew these were the last minutes of her life. Being the citizen of Zaun on the Piltover’s territory was too dangerous, especially tonight.
Caitlyn’s eyes roam down girl’s body noticing a piece of familiar knife was stuck in the victim’s abdomen – one of her colleagues has already been there. Her brows furrowed, but she doesn’t jump into conclusions. Now she just wants to help the poor thing.
“We’ll get you to the nearest hospital. Hold on.”
