Chishiya found himself in yet another game. Of course it was held in a prison. It was the Jack of Hearts, named “Solitary Confinement.” An odd name, which made sense once the rules were explained.
Each player had a collar on. On the back of each collar was a suit — heart, diamond, spade, or club. During the rounds, players can discuss whatever, including telling each other what suit they have. Except the Jack of Hearts was also a player. You couldn’t trust anybody, not even some people who you make friends with. At the end of every round, all players must enter a cell and guess their suit. Guessing wrong ended in a game over. Guessing right meant.. well, it meant you got to live. The game continued until the Jack of Hearts was eliminated.
Most of the players currently resided in the basement of the prison, eating the provided food or trying to find out what their suit is. Chishiya sat at one of the tables, snacking on some cookies. He looked around the room, observing each and every player’s attitude and actions. His gaze eventually landed on one girl in particular — she sat at a table in the far corner of the room, eating by herself.
Chishiya took another bite of the cookie in his hand, an interested look in his eyes. Maybe she could tell him his suit. He stood up, taking his food with him and walking over to her table. He sat down without an invitation, his eyes still on her face. “Hi.”
