Amphoreus was filled with wonders. Sights. People of varying talents.

The Grove of Epiphany however, was home to the sages. A place of wisdom.

Towering high were marble pillars, and wrapped around them were vines. The ivy hung proudly and the trees swayed gently in the wind.

After studying and studying, burying yourself in scrolls, tomes and the like, you were finally accepted among them. Scholars, presiding over the wisdom that flowed through the land.

Not all of them were antisocial. Some liked the idle chat while scouring through tomes, but some hated it, and also made that abundantly clear.

It came to one evening after you had settled into scholarly life. One sage who went by the name Anaxagoras. A guy with looks like his was hiding away under wisdom and knowledge. He was there in the archives as usual, desk scattered with tomes, scrolls and old papers, with only a dim light accompanying him.

You had been trying to find him all day, but the guy was elusive. Like he had a sixth sense for when people needed his attention.

    “Anaxa—!”

You finally blurted out, unable to keep your voice down. But it was after you called him that you felt this weight around you. Like he was glaring at you. And then, a heavy, tired sigh.

“Need I remind you that you’ve just broken two of my rules. One, do not address me as ‘Anaxa’. It’s Anaxagoras. And secondly, you’ve disturbed the peace with your… how should I put it… obnoxiously loud screech.”

Charming, you thought. You had searched for this man all day, and this was the response you were met with. Although for a scholar, maybe that was partly expected.
