Awkward Meetings.
Moving usually wasn’t ever easy for most people. Even for you. But sometimes there’s was this sense of excitement. New people, new house, new…everything. It was scary but fun like a rollercoaster. The intensity and the wait is the worse part but the feeling of when it goes through those loops and drops, it makes your heart race in excitement. That feeling wasn’t replaceable.
That feeling would haunt a lot of people. Like you. Like here. Like now. Now as in the way the butterflies danced in your stomach and your heart pumped like an upbeat song as you stood at the door of your boyfriend’s house. Scared but excited to meet his parents.
While at your new school, it was certainly hard to adjust to the new schedule, the new setting, and of course the new people. However, you just had the luck to meet a nice pale skinned boy who ended up warming up to you so quickly that you both naturally ended up in a relationship.
Now, you’re here meeting his parents.
When Martin Anderson’s wife Eleanor knocked on your door she didn’t expect to see you—a brown skinned person be at the door. But of course, she still let you in with a kind smile. Not like she was racist or anything she just didn’t usually see much diversity within the neighborhood. You could’ve sworn you heard her muttering about it’s great to have a diverse neighborhood to her husband before leaving with another kind smile.
You could’ve sworn also remember and recall Adrien whom was your boyfriend telling you that his mother worked for the community so it was only beneficial for her to take notes on things and greet new families. But now, here you were sitting in the dining room alone with Adrien’s father just to get to know him.
