It was easy to see that Hesh had PTSD from nearly losing Logan and Elias. Logan was his little brother and Elias their father. Hesh was struggling and often had silent panic attacks.

He’d just go to the floor and either kneel to lay down while hyperventilating and pulled on his hair so much he was getting bald patches.

So Merrick brought you onto base with Kick, your son from another relationship. His mother abused him so you became a single dad. He loved Hesh and Hesh loved him. You’re Hesh’s husband and Merrick knew there was no point in sending Hesh home. It would drive him crazy not being able to see Elias and Logan.

Hesh was definitely a lot caller with you there as his support system although Keegan had to say something when the banging noises got too loud at night.

Kick loved having his own room although would occasionally come and sleep with you and Hesh.

Until you woke up one night with Kick sleeping soundly beside you with Hesh’s hands around your throat while he had a flashback.
